ENTRY#6 - When You Hit Rock Bottom, the Only Way is Up


Hey guys! Long time no blog post. I have an explanation for that but I'll keep it simple. CHANGE. Sudden turn of events which leads me to my poem. I just decided to start writing again. Out of the blue this poem came to me. 

Of course, it has basis. The main point of it though is despite everything that happened, I don't regret any choices I made. It all led to where I am now. I mean, it's not even close to where I want to be in life at the moment but we'll get there. As long as I keep moving forward, I'm one step closer.

DISCLAIMER:  I would just like to point out that I am NOT, I repeat, I am not a professional writer. I am only but a mere being practicing her writing skills, hoping that she would improve for the better. That is why I accept constructive criticism because without mistakes and failures, there is actually no success. 

So without further a do, my newly written poem. I hope you like it :)

Midnight thoughts. I look back,
why I chose this particular track
Every yes and no,
took me where I needed to go.

A dreamer I was and still am,
wanting to achieve everything.
I took a chance and hoped for the best
but what happened next , I never guessed.

I gave my all  thinking that was my calling,
but I found myself falling. 
Failing,hopeless, unsure and lost.
What was that term, "a lost cause"?

I was back to square one, feeling lonesome
But then it struck me, I was still a dreamer. I took a shift.
I remembered that when you hit rock bottom,
the only way is up. That was my best gift.

* WORST CRITIC EVER * Definitely, THE WORST CRITIC EVER! I give myself too much pressure especially, when I think of an idea that I'd love to do. But the thing is,  I would usually critique myself even before there is something to critique.   It's horrible...
